Summary

Mr. Laurie was found guilty of professional misconduct by Benchers pursuant to section 52 (1)(b) of the Law Society Act. The violation arose from Mr. Laurie’s failure to respond to correspondence from the Law Society, and failure to file an Accountant’s Report in form 5.15A.

The disciplinary action ordered by Benchers consisted of a reprimand pursuant to section 52 (3)(a)(i) and a fine of $1,000.00 pursuant to section 52 (3)(a)(iv). Benchers also ordered pursuant to section 57 (1) that Mr. Laurie pay the expense incurred by the Society in the investigation and hearing of the complaint.
